Transgender troops will continue to be allowed to serve in the military.
That’s after an announcement by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis saying an expert study on the matter is pending.
Mattis’ decision comes after President Trump posted a tweet declaring transgenders will not be allowed to serve in the military.
In a statement, Mattis said “Once the panel reports its recommendations and following my consultation with the secretary of homeland security, i will provide my advice to the president concerning implementation of his policy direction,”
