The Tontitown Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle early this morning for traffic violations but soon ended up in a police chase.
According to a press release, the vehicle failed to stop and increased to speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. Officers pursued the vehicle westbound on Highway 412 as it left the Tontitown city limits.
Officers learned that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Springdale during the chase. The pursuit continued to Siloam Springs and stop sticks were deployed by police near the intersection of Highway 412 and Kenwood Street.
Both occupants were identified as juveniles and arrested without further incident.
During an inventory of the vehicle, several items were located that were consistent with recent breaking and entering cases from Tontitown.
An investigation into the items recovered from the vehicle is active and ongoing.
The juvenile suspects are facing charges of theft by receiving motor vehicle, felony fleeing, possession of prohibited weapons, possession of instruments of crime and multiple other counts of theft by receiving.
