Tyson Foods is responding after a video was released, allegedly showing workers at a farm contracted by the company, mistreating animals.

The video was shot by the group Compassion Over Killing, a nonprofit animal rights advocacy organization. It shows chickens being abused by several alleged workers.

“If Tyson really wanted to shape the future of food, it should distance itself from these atrocities we’ve exposed yet again in its supply chain and focus on cruelty-free plant protein,” said Cheryl Leahy, general counsel for Compassion Over Killing.

In a statement, Tyson Foods Group President of Poultry Doug Ramsey said “We’re outraged by what’s shown in this video, the actions of these people are egregious, inexcusable and will not be tolerated by Tyson.”

Tyson says ten of the workers in the video [Warning: Link to video contains graphic content] have been fired and the company has terminated its contract with the farm.
