FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — Thousands of Arkansans are heading to Razorback Stadium Saturday and now parking may become easier.
Created by several University of Arkansas alumni, FanSpotz is connecting event goer “fans” with property owner “parkers” who have spots for rent.
The free app allows property owners to advertise available parking spots and set their own price, activating a parking beacon to show their location. All communication and payments are made in the app.
Co-founder Steven Zapata says visiting fans will now be able to find parking easier and more conveniently.
“People are out there holding up poster board signs, $20 written on it. This is a way of broadcasting how many available there are that people otherwise wouldn’t find off the beaten trail,” Zapata said.
FanSpotz is live throughout Northwest Arkansas from Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale to Fayetteville, to serve a variety of events beyond college football.
An updated version of the app will be available in time for the Alabama game on October 6th.
“The next version of the app — they’re going to be able to book weeks, months in advance for events. They’re going to be able to search for events. Property owners will be able to manage their lots for multiple spaces,” Zapata said.
FanSpotz will be expanding to new markets, starting with college towns similar to Fayetteville.
