UA Homecoming Parade Kicks Off on Dickson St.

News

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.  (KNWA)–At the University of Arkansas, students, alumni and even local businesses geared up for one of the final event of homecoming week, the parade.

Tonight the 96th annual homecoming parade took place at 6:00 this evening, regardless of the rain.

According to coordinators, the parade and pep rally are the largest traditions in the university’s history.

This year, the school expects about 500 people to participate.

Greek pairings showed off their floats that they’ve been working on for months. If you’ve driven down Razorback Rd., you’ve seen the hard work these students have put in.

But, this parade isn’t just about them.

Various community groups and local businesses also made their way down this road playing music and tossing out candy.

The route started on the corner of Hiland St. and Dickson St. and continued all the way to the Greek Theater.
