University of Arkansas Debuts Inaugural Women’s Music Festival in March

The University of Arkansas will debut a month-long festival starting today (March 5) to celebrate Women’s History Month and their contribution to music.

The ‘SHE, A Festival of Women in Music’ will take place through March 30.

The Department of Music in the University of Arkansas’ J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences will host the festival. It will recognize women across the field with an array of music featuring women composers and performers.

The first performance will be tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center. Find out more information about the festival here

The festival features guest lectures, performances of Western art music and contemporary music, and a one-woman play.
