UPDATE: Bella Vista House Fire Victim Identified

BELLA VISTA, Ark. (KNWA) - UPDATE: The person who died in a Bella Vista house fire has been identified.

The victim of the deadly house fire on Crosston Lane has been identified as 71-year-old Rosaleen Wilcox.

Bella Vista Communications Manager Cassi Lapp, who released the identity, said the early Sunday morning fire remains under investigation.

A person died in a house fire in Bella Vista Sunday morning.

The person suffered fatal injuries in a fire on Crosston Lane, according to Cassi Lapp, communications manager for the City of Bella Vista.

The Bella Vista Fire Department was called to a home engulfed in flames at approximately 6:30 a.m.

One other person was transported by ambulance to Mercy Bella Vista, according to Lapp.

The Bella Vista fire chief said the person who died was found dead after 30 minutes of fighting the blaze. The chief said that the occupants of the home were woken up by extreme heat.

The name of the person who died has not been released.

"The incident is currently under investigation, and no further information will be released until next of kin is notified," Lapp said in a news release.
