UPDATE: Fayetteville Armed Robbery Suspect Caught


UPDATE: A man suspected of using a gun to rob a Fayetteville gas station has been caught.

Thomas M. Finch, 18, of Fayetteville was taken into custody and booked into the Washington County Detention Center on one count of aggravated robbery, according to a Fayetteville Police Department news release.

Police located Finch in the area of Deane and Shamblin after they were notified of a suspicious person in that area, according to a police report.

Finch was found wearing clothing similar to that warn by the robbery suspect. Police described him in the report as intoxicated.

Finch told police he had a gun in his backpack, according to the report.

Police searched the backpack and found three airsoft pistols, one of which matched the gun used in the robbery. Police also found a pack of cigarettes that matched cigarettes stolen during the robbery, the news release states.

Finch’s physical description was described as matching that of the robbery suspect, according to the report.


Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect in Fayetteville.

The Fayetteville Police Department said an armed robbery happened just before 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 21) at the White Oak Station on Crossover Road in Fayetteville. No one was injured in the incident.

Police said the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect has been identified as a white man wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. Police said he is not a threat to the public.
