UPDATE: Fort Smith missing woman has been found in Oklahoma

UPDATE: Fort Smith police report that Constance Lorene Gaines was found, and is safe, around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16.

Gaines was at a family member’s home in Muskogee, Oklahoma, according to police.


A 66-year-old woman was last seen Sunday and the Fort Smith Police Department has now issued a “missing person alert.”

Constance Lorene Gaines lived at 4301 Kinkead in Fort Smith, but was staying with her son and his girlfriend at the 1600 block of Jackson.  

On May 12, she gathered a few personal items and left the home, according to police.

The family states that Gaines has dementia-like symptoms and has become worse over the past few weeks.

Gaines had on a white jacket, blue-and-white striped shirt, blue jeans and black shoes when she was last seen.
