UPDATE: Mercy Doctor and Wife Arrested on Drugs Charges

Detectives Found Around 16 Ibs of Marijuana and Several Firearms

(KNWA) - The McDonald County Sheriff's Office released new details of the Mercy doctor who was arrested for drugs.

According to officials, Dr. Robert Joseph Stuppy and his wife, Becky Stuppy, were both arrested but have posted bond out of the Benton County Jail.

The Sheriff's Office said after investigating a tip they received in August, deputies and the Special Response Team were able to set up cameras on a marijuana grow operation near Pineville, Missouri. However, when deputies went back to retrieve the cameras they said that two were taken down.

The third camera was found and deputies said they were able to witness Robert and Becky taking down the cameras along with the marijuana plants from where the marijuana was growing.

McDonald County detectives and the Special Response Team executed a search warrant of the couple's home. Detectives said they found around 16 pounds of marijuana and several firearms in a locked safe room.

Dr. Stuppy was indefinitely suspended from the hospital following his arrest.
