UPDATE: Police ID Man Killed in Motorcycle Versus Car Accident


UPDATE: Fort Smith police have identified the man who was killed in a motorcycle versus car accident.

Robert Chase, 61, was riding the motorcycle during the crash. He died at a local hospital shortly after the wreck.

The passenger on the back of the motorcycle was identified as 50-year-old Elizabeth Scott-Davenport. She is in stable condition with broken bones.

The driver of the car is not being identified at the moment because the crash is under investigation. 


FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA) — Fort Smith Police pronounced one dead in a fatal motorcycle versus car accident at South 46th and Phoenix just after noon, Sgt. Steven Dooly said.

The driver of the motorcycle died and his passenger was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to authorities.  

There is no current injury status about the driver. The names of those involved have yet to be released. 

This is an ongoing investigation.

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA) — Fort Smith Police, Fire and E.M.S. personnel are on scene of a serious injury accident at South 46th, Sgt. Wendall Sampson said. 

Authorities have traffic blocked from Airport Blvd to Phoenix and from the Target pavilion, west to the accident.

Fort Smith Police urge individuals to avoid the area if possible.
