Two Springdale Police Department officers are in the hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Friday morning.

At around 3:20 a.m., the police department received a call about "suspicious subjects" in the 700 block of Woodridge Drive.

The caller told police he was going home from work because he saw two people outside his house on a security camera.

Officers then arrived on the scene and located the two suspects. They were inside of a stolen Nissan Altima with the lights off, according to the Springdale Police Department.

One of the officers approached the vehicle, but the car took off hitting the officer and throwing him into the hood of the vehicle, according to the police department.

Another officer was also struck by the vehicle.

The vehicle then hit the caller in his vehicle head-on.

Officers say the suspects in the vehicle then fled on foot.

Police say four suspects have been caught and arrested.

Both officers were transported to Northwest Medical. Officials say they are in critical condition.

The investigation is still ongoing.
