UPDATE: Siloam Springs Man Arrested for DWI Scheduled for Court Today

Michael Guest, of Siloam Springs, is expected to be in court on Monday, February 11, after crashing his truck into a fountain last month.

Guest’s son was inside the vehicle during the crash and later died at a hospital from his injuries.

Guest faces charges of driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Benton County Prosecutor, Nathan Smith, said his agency plans to pursue a new charge of DWI-negligent homicide against Guest.

The Siloam Springs Police Department arrested a man following a crash on Thursday, January 3.

Siloam Springs Police and Fire responded to a call of a traffic accident at the intersection of Highway 412 and Main Street in Siloam Springs.

Officers arrived and located a vehicle that was overturned and submerged in water, according to a Siloam Springs Police Department press release.

Officers located one man outside of the vehicle. The driver was identified as Michael Guest, 38.

Guest advised that a juvenile was still inside the submerged vehicle. Personnel entered the water and were able to move the vehicle onto its side and remove the juvenile from the vehicle, according to police.

Guest was transported to the Siloam Springs Regional Hospital where he was treated and released. The juvenile was also transported to the Siloam Springs Regional Hospital then transported to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. The juvenile’s status is currently unknown.

Guest was taken into custody after being released from the hospital. He is facing charges of driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Guest is currently in the Benton County Jail and has no bond.
