UPDATE: Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office officials announced the apprehension of a wanted fugitive.

Joseph Johnson, 35, was captured, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

Johnson had an active warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Johnson also has pending charges in relation to an aggravated assault on Monday.

Johnson is on parole and was on an ankle monitor, but disabled the location device. He is a level 2 sex offender who is not in compliance.

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a wanted fugitive from Greenwood.

Joseph Johnson, 35, has an active warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Johnson also has pending charges in relation to an aggravated assault yesterday.

According to a press release, Johnson is on parole and was on an ankle monitor, but has since disabled the location device. He is a level 2 sex offender who is not in compliance.

Johnson was fighting yesterday in the Clark’s Chapel area and swung at others with a baseball bat.

Johnson has shown by his past behavior that he can be dangerous. If you see him, please dial 911.
