UPDATE: Washington County Deputy OK after rollover crash


Update: Washington County Sheriff Deputy and Assistant Fire Marshal, Justin Cox, was involved in a head-on crash with another vehicle in Benton County Wednesday morning.

The Initial report said Cox was traveling east on Highway 12 when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction hydroplaned, went into the deputy’s lane of traffic and hit him head-on.

Cox was transported to Rogers Mercy Hospital and has since been released.

Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident involving two vehicles including a Washington County Deputy’s vehicle.

The accident happened on Highway 12 about two miles Southeast of U.S. Highway 62 near Prairie Creek in Benton County around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The Washington County Deputy was taken to Mercy Hospital after the two-car rollover crash, according to the Beaver Lake Fire department.

According to Beaver Lake Fire Chief, John Whisenant, he did not know the condition of the deputy.

The driver of the other vehicle was also injured but was treated at the scene.
