Crews work to repair a sinkhole in Van Buren.
They believe flooding is to blame for this hole at the intersection of Highway 59 and I-540.
The sanitary system is currently intact and steel plates have been installed to cover the hole. Officials say drivers should take caution when driving.
“I would advise anyone driving around this area to watch out for any orange cones, barricades, especially near the levee or where water has been flooded,” Director of Utilities Steve Dufresne says.
Officials urge you to be aware of your surroundings. The roads that are closed are to keep you safe. If you run into any flooded areas remember to turn around.
