A man arrested in Van Buren Friday is accused of murdering a 2-year-old child.
Jordan Shreeve was arrested by Van Buren police on suspicion of first-degree murder, according to a Van Buren Police Department news release.
Police were called to the 2200 block of Granite Circle on November, 8 regarding the child’s death. An autopsy revealed that the toddler died from severe head trauma, and the manner of death was ruled to be a homicide, according to the news release.
“Meanwhile, Jordan Shreeve fled the area and went to Michigan where we believe he has been staying for three months,” the news release states.
Shreeve was located Friday in Van Buren when a detective spotted a moving truck at the suspect’s residence.
“Further investigation led investigators to a Van Buren Motel where Shreeve was located and arrested,” the news release states.
Shreeve is the fiancée of the victim’s mother.
Shreeve was being booked into the Crawford County Detention Center with no bond when the news release was issued Friday.
