FORT SMITH, Ark. (KFTA) — A River Valley man faces three rape charges and a sexual assault charge.
Stanley Dewayne Rice, 57, of Van Buren was indicted on Sept. 12 on suspicion of three counts of rape and a count of second-degree sexual assault.
An affidavit states that a female victim spoke to law enforcement and said that Rice raped her several times when she was a young girl, even taking her on long road trips and raping her during those trips. Many of these rape incidents occurred when Rice was living in Van Buren, the affidavit states.
Investigators spoke with other victims. One woman said she and two other females were raped by Rice.
Investigators spoke with a man who said that Rice raped him on several occasions whens he was a teenager.
Rice pleaded not guilty on Sept. 18. His trial is set for Nov. 5 at 9 a.m. in U.S. District Court in Sebastian County.
He is currently being detained at the Sebastian County Detention Center.
