Veterans Use Music to Heal

News

Veterans join together to share the power of music with one another.

“Soldiers Songs and Voices of Northwest Arkansas,” held at the Fayetteville Senior Center, is a guitar and songwriting workshop run by other local veterans.

Former soldiers from just about every branch of the military join the music circle. Those that show an interest in music and a desire to take lessons will be given a free guitar, no strings attached.

“It’s been a wonderful experience and I’ve met a lot of other veterans who are willing to learn. You don’t have to know anything, there are others that are willing to help out,” said Jim Hale, a veteran.

The lessons take place every second Sunday of the month and the group is always looking to grow.
