Voice of Bart Simpson Talks Bentonville Film Festival

Celebrities are still rolling in this weekend for more events at the Bentonville Film Festival.

We caught up with the woman behind a lead character in a classic animated series.

Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson, is in Northwest Arkansas this week. Cartwright said she is inspired by Geena Davis and the efforts to promote inclusion and diversity, especially considering her role in television.

I’m an ani-tranny if you will. As the voice of Bart Simpson, I’m an animation and I’m a boy so you got an animation, transgender kid here. I mean that’s diversity in itself. I think that’s amazing man that I can be here but I’m Nancy Cartwright, Bart is somewhere in my back pocket. I can always bring him out as needed,” Cartwright said.

Cartwright said she is really enjoying her time at the Bentonville Film Festival. She will be in town for a few days and said she plans to tour the city and take it all in.
