‘Wall That Heals’ visitors reflect upon sacrifice

News

It was a time for healing and reflection in Bentonville.

As part of The Wall That Heals exhibit, area Boy Scouts placed lighted luminaries along the wall for Friday night’s candlelight time of remembrance and reflection event.

Visitors were encouraged to light a candle to remember and honor the families who sacrificed so much for our nation.

“I met a veteran this morning that was in one of the major offenses in Vietnam, and he hadn’t visited the wall ever in D.C. or one of the traveling walls,” said Nick Weaver, assistant den leader for Pack 525, Boy Scouts of America. “You know, just talking to him, he teared up and it was amazing to hear his stories.”

You’ll be able to view the three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall at the entrance to Crystal Bridges through Monday when the exhibit closes at 1 p.m.

The experience is free to the public.
