Our last report from the Arkansas Department of Health showed 11 influenza-related deaths have been reported in the Natural State this flu season.

This includes one pediatric death.

Saturday, Walmart offered flu shots at their stores as well as free health screenings to promote overall wellness.

“It’s nice just to get like a baseline screening for some people who may not be aware of if they have high blood pressure, have high cholesterol, have high glucose, and then we can refer them on to a primary care physician for more treatment” said Walmart Pharmacy Assistant Manager, Reagan Alexander.

The representative from Walmart Pharmacy also mentions that they are filling more perscriptions for the flu in the area, so she recommends preventing it if you can.
