Walmart’s hunger relief campaign will help feed thousands in NWA

News

Over 63,000 people in Northwest Arkansas struggle with hunger and a national initiative is helping to combat it.

Walmart’s ‘Fight Hunger Spark Change’ campaign has already secured over 930 million meals for food insecure families across the nation.

In partnership with the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, Walmart And Sam’s Club shoppers in Northwest Arkansas can help fight hunger for the community by purchasing food items online or in stores, donating online or bringing donations to your closest store.

CEO of the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank Kent Eikenberry, says food insecurity hurts everyone around in our area but change needs to come for the more rural counties, and this campaign is a step in the right direction.

“When you get off the main streets; when you get into the Winslows, the Elkins, the Huntsville’s. Those guys are hungry and their tummies don’t care if they live in Madison County or downtown Rogers,” says Eikenberry.

The fight hunger campaign will end next week on May 20.
