Walton Arts Center and the Walmart AMP announced today a partnership with the United Way of Fort Smith Area to provide flood recovery assistance to the Arkansas River Valley.
Northwest Arkansas residents can help out in two ways.
From Tuesday, June 4, through Thursday, June 6, drop off donations of non-perishable food items, bottled water, heavy-duty trash bags (33-34 gallon), paper towels, toilet paper, safety glasses, and work gloves or rubber cleaning gloves will be accepted at the Walton Arts Center or Walmart AMP from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
These items have been specifically requested by the United Way of Fort Smith Area to meet the immediate needs of flooding victims.
In Fayetteville, donations will be accepted backstage at Walton Arts Center. You can enter from Spring Street, drop off your items, and exit to West Avenue.
In Rogers, donations will be received in the parking lot in front of the Walmart AMP box office.
Those who donate will receive two tickets to Bella Gaia, while supplies last.
Tickets for Bella Gaia are also on sale for $10. The entire ticket price will be donated to the United Way of Fort Smith Area. Purchase tickets by calling the box office at (479) 443-5600, or online at www.waltonartscenter.org
“Bella Gaia was already planned to be the 10th anniversary celebration of Artosphere, Arkansas’ Arts + Nature Festival,” said Peter B. Lane, president and CEO of Walton Arts Center. “Now we will also celebrate the generosity of our community by turning this performance into a community fundraiser.”
