The Washington County Department of Emergency Management says it’s ready to deploy to the River Valley to help with evacuations and provide other flooding aid within the next week, if needed.

Washington County emergency manager John Luther says Task Force One is monitoring the situation closely and is on standby mode.

Arkansas Task Force One is made up of two area teams, the Northwest Arkansas Area Team and the Central Arkansas Area Team. The Northwest team is made up of Washington County Emergency Management and Fayetteville, Springdale and Rogers fire departments. Other agencies can be assigned to the task force as needed, Luther said.

The Central Arkansas team is made up of Pulaski County and participating departments in that region.
