The Washington County Sheriff’s Office held its awards and promotional ceremony today to recognize promotions, milestones in tenure and outstanding citizens.
The Washington County Sheriff’s office recognized employee promotions, employee years of service and presented several awards to people, both inside and outside, of the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Tim Helder, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, “Whenever you have 10 to 15 people that are at 10, 15 or 20 years that’s a pretty good sign.”
Support filled the seats as Sheriff Tim Helder stated how proud he was to be in charge of this group of people. Employees were honored for working at the office for anywhere from ten-years to 40 years with special pins. Trenton Pretty, who has recently been in radiation treatment., was promoted to Corporal, along with seven other employees.
“It’s an opportunity for us to encourage our employees. To let them know that they are appreciated for the job they do. Not just by me but you can look out into a full room. Oh my gosh… I’m inspired everyday,” said Helder.
Helder says it’s events like these that remind him of how much support the community gives them.
“It just reinforces my belief that our community believes in us. When we are in need whether that’s physical need or in need of emotional support they are here for us in Northwest Arkansas,” said Helder.
Helder says the Washington County Sheriff’s Office hosts these ceremonies twice a year due to the number of people they honor.
