The Hog Call, it’s a sound heard consistently at Razorback sporting events. But it might not be heard for much longer at Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium.
“We believe in honoring the contract,” said Arkansas Athletics Director Jeff Long. “We have a contract through ’18, and we have a contract to play an SEC game in ’18. I fully intend unless, I fully intend to honor that contract.”
Why would Arkansas move the games they’ve played in Little Rock since 1948? Attendance is a key factor with only 2/3 of the stadium being full last Thursday night.
“I think we look at all the games we’ve had there and we evaluate that,” said Long. “And you know we’ve lowered the price of tickets in Little Rock as well. So, we’ve done some things to encourage attendance at Little Rock. Certainly attendance is a piece it’s not the only piece.”
In the end, Long knows not everybody will be happy no matter the decision.
“It’s a passionate state,” said Long. “The Razorbacks are important to this state. There’s a history and tradition
Long’s biggest hope is that this argument doesn’t divide the state.
