Surface high pressure centered across eastern Arkansas early this morning has allowed for light southernly winds to return across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.
Also this morning, a shortwave was located over southern New Mexico. This wave is anticipated to push across central Texas today which could spread some scattered high clouds across CWA as it moves off to the east.
Southernly winds in the 5 to 15 mph range today combined with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies will aid in the afternoon temperatures warming into the mid 50s to lower 60s across CWA.
Conditions are expected to continue for Thanksgiving Day with temps maybe a degree or so warmer than today.
The southernly winds and warmer temps will create areas of limited fire weather conditions across parts of the CWA.
Rain chances become possible Thursday night as the system approaches and then likely as they spread across CWA on Friday.
The greater rain potential is forecasted to be during the morning hours Friday into the early afternoon before tapering off.
