FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – High pressure located over Northwest Arkansas on Thursday will move east throughout the day.
As the high moves away, southerly winds will return, marking the beginning of a gradual warming trend. As Hurricane Irma heads toward Florida, a secondary high pressure system over Canada will drop over the
Great Lakes, giving Northwest Arkansas a slightly cooler air mass early into next week.
Dry weather with temperatures near or slightly below the seasonal normals will continue for the next
week.
A more substantial warmup may occur just beyond this forecast period, with well above normal temperatures possible by the end of next week into the following weekend.
