WASHINGTON, D.C., (KARK) — Former FBI Director James Comey testified publicly under oath Thursday for the first time since he was abruptly fired by President Donald Trump last last month, telling the Senate Intelligence Committee that he was “stunned” by a conversation he had with Trump in the Oval Office.
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Arkansas, questioned Comey for about seven minutes.
The senator asked Comey if he believed the president was colluding with Russia during his campaign, and Comey declined to answer in an unclassified setting.
“I’m not trying to suggest by my answer something nefarious,” he added later.
