Congressman Steve Womack was in Fort Smith Friday to honor local student Madison Marsh.
Marsh is a senior at Southside High School who was recently nominated to receive full admission to the United States Air Force Academy.
The admissions process for the academy is highly competitive and requires a Congressional nomination.
“I’ve been flying since I was 15 years old, so whenever I started that and after I went to space camp I kind of decided I wanted to be an astronaut, and after that I just kind of put this as my path and what I wanted to do and my end goal,” Marsh said.
Marsh went through a rigorous and competitive application process to earn the Military Service Academy nomination through Womack’s office.
