The holidays can be difficult for those who’ve recently lost a loved one. Holiday place settings and decorations remind one Bella Vista woman of her husband who she recently lost.
Now she’s opening her home and heart to comfort others who are also grieving this holiday season. That woman is Jeanie. She said, “Well for the first time I knew how widows feel.”
She recently lost her husband, Cliff. “Our little home is small but it seems so big right now and so I thought I feel very blessed and I wanted to share my blessing.”
Jeanie said she didn’t want to be alone with her grief this holiday season. So she reached out to other widows on Facebook inviting them to her home for a holiday dinner.
“Maybe I just need to open it up on the first of January to other widows who are experiencing what I’ve experienced and we can hopefully have a new year and have some fun and get to know new people.”
Her home is filled with decorations reminding her of the love and years she spent with Cliff.
“The little breakfast nook that we had. I kind of decorated in memory of Cliff because he loved the sound of trains.”
Now she hopes to remember the life she and her husband lived and to inspire others going through similar difficulties, that they too can have a happy life after losing a loved one.
Jeanie said, “Reach out. You be proactive. If you’re lonely reach out to others who are lonely.”
