Woman Posts Bond After Throwing a Child to the Ground, Victim’s Mother Speaks Out

A woman arrested for throwing a child against the ground at a school for special needs kids is now out on bond.

Bethany stark and her family moved to Ozark, Arkansas back in April.

Two of her sons needed special attention in schooling

She thought the Franklin County Learning Center would be a perfect fit.

“It was just so much more convenient for us than driving 3 to 6 times a week for therapy somewhere else,” Stark said.

But she says something was off.

“Something just didn’t seem right to me,” Stark said. “That’s what I said during the first walk through. I should’ve listened to my gut instinct. “

Stark received a call on Friday from the school that one of her kids – Jackson – was thrown to the ground with excessive force – and it was all on video tape.

According to doctors, Jackson had suffered a concussion.

“They didn’t want to say slammed down – so they worded it forcefully put down,” Stark said.

That worker – 26 year old Ashton Graham.

Graham was working at the center as a teacher’s aid.

Tuesday, Graham was released from the Franklin County Jail on a $10,000 bond after being arrested on second degree battery charges.

“Just because she’s out – doesn’t mean one thing to us,” Stark said. “We aren’t stopping.”

According to the Department of Human Services, an investigation has been launched into the learning center.

The department says this is isolated incident.

But Stark disagrees.

“Oh I have broke the surface,” Stark said. “They are hiding it and I am bringing it out of them.”

Stark released a recording to KNWA of a phone call she had with Diane Walls – the director of the school on a similar incident she had months ago.

Walls stated the surveillance footage has already been deleted.

The mom of four believes the only thing that’s overwritten is the truth.

“I’ve only been here a few months and I blew it up,” Stark said. “They messed with the wrong mother.”

Stark says her children have been pulled from the Franklin County Learning Center for now.

She does plan to take legal action.

Authorities confirmed the surveillance video shows there is possibly another child victim.
