FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — Women in STEM week is happening at the University of Arkansas, and Wednesday the College of Engineering held a panel addressing the increase of females within STEM industries.
The panel included students currently enrolled in STEM programs, as well as women in industries ranging from nuclear power to female friendly hair care products.
“It’s important to talk about this issue at the college level because a lot of these women are about to enter the industry, and they also need to know that the issues they are hearing about and the issues that are happening in classes that they’re being addressed,” said Haley Knighten, junior chemical engineering student at the U of A.
Women in STEM continues throughout the week at the university.
