Work Up a Sweat While Raising Money for Area Nonprofits

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA) — A local business is giving you the chance to work on your 2019 fitness goals while helping an area nonprofit.

FreeRide Indoor Cycling Studio in Bentonville will host a charity ride on Friday, January 4. It’s a donation only ride and all of the money will go toward the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, which is on a mission to bring fine arts into local schools.

Adrienne Woods, co-owner of the studio said it’s important to have this type of learning in schools.

“Kids learn differently. Not everyone is a math student or a science student. Not everyone is very concrete, Fine arts allow kids to be more visual, allows them to express themselves in different ways “

Woods als said these type of events happen every week as a way to give back to the community.

“Just like shopping local is important, supporting local nonprofits is important,” Woods said. “They rely solely on funding from the community. We are a very blessed community so we need to give back to them because they don’t often have the same sources of revenue that we do.”
