Arkansans Vote to Raise the Minimum Wage

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KARK) – We’re projecting that Arkansas voters have passed Issue 5, an initiated act to increase the minimum wage.

The measure has 69% of the vote with 31% of precincts reporting.

Passage of the act increases the state minimum wage from $8.50 to $9.25 per hour on Jan. 1, 2019, then to $10 per hour on Jan. 1, 2020, and finally to $11 per hour on Jan. 1, 2021.
