May is National Pet Month and in celebration, Jason sat down with Courtney Kramer, director of animal services in Springdale to learn how you can give pets a “furever” home through adoption. We met Pebbles a chihuahua terrier mix! He is a rescue pup who is looking for her forever home.

It is the best time to adopt. They’ve got dogs. They’ve got cats right here in Springdale. If you adopt this month during National Pet month, Purina is going to give you something special for adopting a pet: 2 Purina coupons with a combined value up to $55.98.

You can go online or you can also just show up to the shelter to adopt. The Springdale shelter is open from 11 to 6 during the week and 10:00 to 3:00 on Saturday. We do have an online adoption application available on the city website. And we also, of course, have them available in person

All animals you adopt will be up to date on vaccinations. The dogs will be heartworm tested. Cats will be feline leukemia and FIV tested, and they all come home with a microchip as well.

Springdale Animal Services’ mission is to provide shelter and care to the thousands of stray, abandoned, abused, and neglected animals in need every year. We reunite lost pets with their owners, and place many that are homeless in caring, permanent homes. We strive to ensure the welfare and public safety of our community and its animals through education of our residents and enforcement of our ordinances.
