UPDATE: House fire in Fort Smith has been extinguished

UPDATE: The fire has been extinguished.

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — According to a tweet from Fort Smith Police, first responders were called to the 2100 block of N I St. in Fort Smith, Ark for a house fire.

Battalion Chief Tery Graves says five people were in the house. One woman had to be pulled out by firefighters and she is in critical condition. All five people suffered smoke inhalation.

Fire crews are currently battling the fire. Authorities ask you to avoid the area.
