FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — UPDATE: The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says Salazar has been taken into custody after turning himself in around 5 p.m. on July 21.
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warrant for the arrest of a man who went missing near his home in the Etna area on July 18.

According to a Facebook post from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Miguel “Mickey” Salazar, 56, is wanted by police for rape and second degree sexual assault. He was last seen around 5:30 p.m after an incident at his home.
Police say during an investigation of the rape and sexual assault charges, Salazar allegedly shot himself and walked into a wooded area behind his home. He has not been seen or heard from since. According to police, a search of the area yielded no results on the evening of the incident.
Police say Salazar is believed to be in hiding. He is described as a 6 ft. tall Hispanic male and weighs 230 pounds.
