FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The first group of Arkansas National Guardsmen and women returned to Fort Chaffee from Washington D.C. Saturday evening.
About 500 soldiers were assigned to provide security support at the nation’s capitol this past week for President Biden’s inauguration.
The soldiers will remain on duty at Fort Chaffee for medical screening and COVID-19 testing.
