According to Football Scoop, Arkansas’ Jeff Traylor, who coaches running backs, is a candidate for the head coaching job at Stephen F. Austin.

Traylor is an alum of the school. He came to Arkansas with Chad Morris from SMU in December, 2017.

The new head coach will replace former UCA head coach Clint Conque, who resigned at Stephen F. Austin on Aug. 6. The team finished 2-8 in 2018 and 10th in the Southland Conference. Among the losses was the season opener to Mississippi State 63-6.

Traylor coached at Texas in 2015 following a successful career coaching high school. Stephen F. Austin is located in Nacogdoches, Texas.
