Arkansas Defeats Providence & Advances in NIT

Arkansas defeated Providence 84-72 in round one of the NIT. 

The Hogs started off well jumping out early and holding on to their lead throughout the first half, up by 16 at one point. During the first, Arkansas shot 50% from the field and was 5-9 from the three point line. Meanwhile, Providence jacked up 11 three pointers in the first half and failed to sink a single one. 

Arkansas lead Providence 42-31 at the half. 

The Hogs held on to the lead throughout the second half to get the 12-point win over Providence. 

One of the biggest stats out of this game is the bench points. Arkansas’ bench showed up and produced 41 points. Reggie Chaney had 14 points off the bench while Ethan Henderson, who played just 10 minutes in the SEC this season, finished the night with 6 points and 5 rebounds.

With this win, Arkansas advances to the play Indiana in the second round. The Razorbacks upset the Hoosiers earleir this season at Bud Walton Arena with a one point win, 73-72.
