Arkansas linebacker De’Jon Harris has reached out to Dodge City (Kan.) Community College linebacker Lakia Henry.
Harris led the SEC in tackles this season with 118 tackles including 62 unassisted. He also added nine tackles for loss, two sacks, five pass breakups, a pair of quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and one recovered fumble.
On Monday night, Harris tweeted to Henry who is one of Arkansas’ top defensive targets.
In 2018, Henry had 77 tackles, including 50 unassisted, three tackles for loss and one fumble recovery in 10 games. Henry, 6-1, 225, visited Arkansas officially on Nov. 10 weekend for LSU game.
Henry committed to Tennessee on May 20. He’s from Vidalia (Ga.) and is being recruited by Arkansas defensive coordinator John Chavis.
Arkansas will lose its other starter at linebacker, Dre Greenlaw, who is a senior. Henry could slide into the spot alongside Harris. Arkansas also has sophomore Bumper Pool, junior Dee Walker, junior Grant Morgan and others returning at the Mike and Will linebacker spots.
If Harris plans to return to Arkansas that is good news for the Razorbacks. He’s one of the current juniors who it was believed could test the 2019 NFL Draft interest.
