Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove defensive end Dante Walker has opted to decommit from the Hogs.

Walker, 6-3, 240, said on Monday he was still committed to the Hogs. However, since that time his lead recruiter John Scott Jr. has taken a job at South Carolina.

Walker committed to Arkansas on Oct. 7 while on an official visit. The Razorbacks played Alabama that weekend.

Even before Scott’s departure, rumors had persisted Walker and the Hogs might move in separate directions. Walker didn’t sign early and Arkansas had 29 commitments while still recruiting more.

The Arkansas commitment total now stands at 28 with the intentions to sign 29. Dodge City (Kan.) Community College linebacker Lakia Henry and Dyersburg (Tenn.) linebacker Chris Russell are two obvious targets.

Russell is scheduled to be at Arkansas this weekend for an official visit while Henry is headed to Ole Miss to visit. Henry has already been to Arkansas for an official visit.
