ATLANTA — Former Arkansas defensive end Trey Flowers is about to play in his third-straight Super Bowl.
Three in a row? That prompted members of the media Monday night to ask Flowers whether winning comes easy to him and the New England Patriots.
“We put in the grind, put in the hours, put in the practice. Each and every week we have to come prepared and ready to execute,” added Flowers. “It’s definitely not easy.”
Flowers may make it look easy. He’s seen success in the two previous Super Bowls after being drafted by the Patriots in 2015.
In Super Bowl LI, New England beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28. Flowers led New England in tackles with six and sacks with two-and-a-half in the win.
In Super Bowl LII, the Patriots lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 41-33. Flowers picked up five tackles, a tackle for loss, and two quarterback hits.
Despite the loose feel at Opening Night of the Super Bowl, Flowers says his team knows how to focus and prepare.
“We all know what we came here to do — what we’re focused on,” he added.
Flowers will look to win his second ring Sunday when his team takes on the Los Angeles Rams.
