Arkansas Set to Host Recruits in Season Opener

Arkansas will have a mixture of talent from inside the state as well as outside in attendance on Saturday for the season opener. The visitors includes a standout Class of 2019 wide receiver from Texas as well as Pulaski Academy tight end Hudson Henry.

Henry, 6-5, 225, is a Class of 2019 tight end who has a brother, sophomore linebacker Hayden Henry, on the squad. He had a big game against Springdale Har-Ber last Friday in the season opener. Har-Ber Class of 2021 tight end Errington McRae, 6-3,230, will also be at Arkansas on Saturday.

Austin (Texas) Bowie wide receiver Elijah Higgins, 6-2, 221, holds close to 40 offers including one from the Razorbacks. As a junior, Higgins caught 26 passes for 425 yards and six touchdowns. 

Some Arkansas commitments in the Class of 2019 slated to be in attendance are Joe T. Robinson defensive end Zach Williams, 6-4, 225; Rison athlete Malik Chavis, 6-2, 175 and Gulf Breeze (Fla.) offensive lineman Joseph Stone, 6-8, 354. 

Shiloh Christian Class of 2019 offensive lineman Logan Kallesen, 6-4, 295, holds a preferred walk-on offer from Arkansas. Conway quarterback Jovoni Johnson, 6-4, 200, is also visiting and member of Class of 2019. He can also play wide receiver. As a junior, Johnson passed for 55 yards and two touchdowns while also catching four passes for 64 yards and two touchdowns. 

Tulsa (Okla.) Union Class of 2019 kicker Noah Rauschenberg, 6-2, 190, is a talented kicker. He hit 14 of 22 field goals as a junior while being perfect on 62 point after touchdowns. 

Rison’s Class of 2019 linebacker Landric Lea, 6-0, 185, had 98 tackles and forced two fumbles as a junior. He will accompany Chavis to see the Hogs play this weekend.

Clarksville two-way lineman Michael Powell, 6-4, 295; North Little Rock running back Brandon Thomas, 5-10, 195; and Pulaski Academy running back-wide receiver Jayden Kelley, 6-0, 180, are among the other 2020 prospects visiting. As a sophomore, Kelley rushed for 485 yards and five touchdowns on 68 carries last season. Thomas rushed for 1,587 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. He was named MVP of the Class 7A state title game when the Charging Wildcats beat Bentonville 44-37. He rushed for 199 yards and a pair of touchdowns in that game. 

Dumas will have some talented prospects at the game. Quarterback Chris Harris, 5-11, 185, and 2021 running back Kylin James, 6-0, 200, will be present. As a sophomore, Harris passed for 405 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for 294 yards and two touchdowns. James carried 139 times for 1,234 yards and 14 touchdowns with the varsity as a freshman. 

Memphis (Tenn.) Christian Brothers Class of 2022 athlete Dallan Hayden, 5-10, 165, is the younger brother of Arkansas running back Chase Hayden.
