Arkansas punter Blake Johnson has opted to transfer.

The news comes as no surprise as Johnson lost his job in 2018 to a true freshman walk-on. Johnson only saw action in two games this past season. He had four punts against Eastern Illinois in the season opener and then three more against North Texas. He averaged 30.4 yards on the seven punts.

In his career, Johnson punted in 15 games with 68 punts and averaged 38 yards per kick. He had two punts in 2016 averaging 47 yards per attempt. In 2017, he had the job all season punting 59 times averaging 38.6 yards.

Johnson signed with Arkansas in the Class of 2015 out of Long Beach (Calif.) Los Alamitos High School. He redshirted in 2015.

In high school, Johnson averaged 37.1 yards per punt as a senior, 36.3 junior year and then 38.5 as a sophomore season. He chose the Hogs over Duke, Oregon State and Colorado.

Reid Bauer returns for his sophomore season after averaging 38.9 yards on 56 punts. Matthew Phillips also punted four times averaging 38 yards. He too was a freshman walk-on.
