Hazen 2020 athlete Blayne Toll was among the recruits at Sunday’s Prospect Day at Arkansas.

Following the visit, Toll, 6-5, 235, talked about how it went for him.

“It was good,” Toll said.

What was the highlight or two with it?

“The coaches,” Toll said.

Toll talked about Chad Morris and the coaching staff at Arkansas.

“They’re really great guys,” Toll said. “A really great coaching staff. A really great family they have up there.”

Toll plays quarterback and defensive end for Hazen. Arkansas and most schools are recruiting him as an athlete who could play tight end or defensive end. He definitely has a preference for defensive end.

“It’s just something I’ve always played rather than tight end,” Toll said. “I played a little bit (tight end) in 7-on-7 and I’m good at it and I’m good at blocking, but it’s something I haven’t played my entire life.”

Toll and Hazen reeled off 13 victories in a row in 2018, but then fell to Junction City 36-22 in the Class 2A state championship game in Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium. Toll talked about how he feels the junior season went for the Hornets.

“It went good, but I just wish we could have pulled it out,” Toll said. “We’re looking forward to (2019) it. We lost all our starting offensive line, but it’s gonna be pretty difficult, but I think we can handle it.”

Toll has 17 offers now including the one from Arkansas. Just since Jan. 1 he has netted offers from TCU, Central Michigan, Kansas, LSU, Houston, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and the Hogs. What caused so many teams to jump on board in such a short time?

“I went to a national combine and when I came back they started coming in,” Toll said.

Those offers were added to ones from Arkansas State, Louisville, Texas State, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss, Rutgers, Memphis and Carroll College that he had previously.

Do you have any idea when you might make a decision on your college?

“No sir, I have no idea,” Toll said.

He will be among the recruits at Arkansas’ big Prospect Day on March 9 as well. Toll is ranked in ESPN’s Top 300 for 2020.
