Arkansas coach Chad Morris has been on the road recruiting this week and hopes to reap some of the rewards for it on Friday.
Mansfield (Texas) Legacy safety Jalen Catalon will announce his college decision on Friday at 3:15 p.m. at his high school. Morris will do an in-home visit with Catalon tonight prior to his announcement on Friday.
Excited to have the Head Hog @coachchadmorris alongside me today in DFW. Some great ones to go see and a big time home visit tonight. #WPS @RazorbackFB @RazorbackFBRec pic.twitter.com/qFogRu1frN— Mark Smith (@coachmarksmith) January 17, 2019
Mark Smith has done an outstanding job at Legacy already landing two defensive linemen there. Getting Catalon would be a huge boost to the recruiting class. Catalon will choose between the Hogs, TCU, Texas and Oklahoma on Friday.
On Wednesday, it was Dodge City (Kan.) Community College linebacker Lakia Henry who drew the visit. John Chavis, Morris and the rest of the defensive staff have worked hard to try and land Henry. He was once committed to Tennessee, but now has the Hogs, Texas and Ole Miss on his list.
Henry and Phenix City (Ala.) Central running back A’Montae Spivey, who is committed to the Hogs, are expected to visit Ole Miss during the Jan. 26 weekend. Texas will host Henry this weekend.
Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Blackman cornerback Adonis Otey is committed to the Hogs, but didn’t sign early. He has pulled in a big offer this week.
Otey will visit the Trojans in late January. His teammate, wide receiver Trey Knox, enrolled at Arkansas at midterm.
Arkansas’ coaches will be back in this weekend as the Hogs are set to host official visitors.
