The son of Arkansas head coach Chad Morris took over for the graduated John Stephen Jones, who was a true freshman with the Razorbacks this fall. He passed for 4,036 yards and 46 touchdowns while also rushing for 651 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Morris told SportsDay’s Callie Caplan what it meant to replace Jones in the lineup.
“There’s a lot of pressures, especially having to fill the shoes of John Stephen,” Morris said. “The whole school’s eyes are on you because the quarterback position is just so, I guess, valuable and important. It’s a lot of pressure, but then again, that’s what you work for.”
Morris was offered a scholarship to Arkansas to play for his father on June 15. He also holds offers from Clemson, Oklahoma, Auburn, Colorado, SMU and Kansas.
